How To Make Money Online

A few years back, when people say they are making money online i just chuckle at their guts cos i believe all they are doing is nothing but yahoo yahoo. a friend once visited a relative he was expecting to help secure a high paying job only to be told that getting one is hard and that it is better to seek solace in self employment and she specifically point out that her 23 year old son is making good money online. We smiled at her supposed ignorance cos we so believed the dude was definitely a yahoo boy who was banking on his “mothers ignorance” to get going. We rather turned out to be the “ignorant”. Today, am grinning as i write this to help us all grow our chances of making money online.

MAKING MONEY FROM ADSENSE

Google has a program called AdSense which can make money for you as a Blogger and its FREE. This is how it works. You set up a simple blog, then you register a free google adsense account and then google allows you to display different marketer’s pay per click adverts on your blog. When visitors your blog click on any of these advert links, you make money.

Google will pay you either in dollars or in Euro by sending a cheque to your address right here in Nigeria. The advantage is that you don’t even need to pre-sell your visitors, because you get paid for the click – not the sale, all you need worry about is the traffic.

While this is a “quick and dirty” way to monetize a blog, it shouldn’t be your first choice. That’s because if you’ve chosen a good niche and you’re sending highly targeted traffic to your blog, then you should be able to make more money by selling your own products or affiliate products. I advice you to contact us at BusinessMODE to register you on one of the ASPIREHIGH packages design to reduce the stress of online market  new entrants.

ADVERTISING LINKS/SPACE ON YOUR BLOG/WEBSITE

<Another profitable way to make money with the same blog is to sell advert space and advert links on your blog. This means that people will pay you money (it could be per week or per month) to place banner adverts on your blog so that when people visit your blog and they can click on those ads which would lead them to the advertisers website.

You can charge from around  N2,500 – N25,000 per week for banner ads to be placed on your blog depending on the traffic you get & the advertisers need. No matter how cheap you charge, you have nothing to loose as it does not stop you from doing a thing.

AFFILIATE MARKETING

Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate’s own marketing efforts. You may not have the thirst to create your own products to sell or you don’t have the time then this will be a good starting point for you. Whatever your blog niche, there are products out there being sold that are related to your topic. You can be an affiliate of such products right here in Nigeria.

The industry has four core players: the merchant (also known as ‘retailer’ or ‘brand’), the network (that contains offers for the affiliate to choose from and also takes care of the payments), the publisher (also known as ‘the affiliate’), and the customer. The market has grown in complexity, resulting in the emergence of a secondary tier of players, including affiliate management agencies, super-affiliates and specialized third party vendors.

This means that you sell the person’s product using HIS/HER website and you are given a commission per sale. Most times, the least commission is 50% and it can even go as high as 70% commission depending on what they are selling. Services usually give more than physical goods. All you need to do is contact the owner and request to be his affiliate, work out some terms and off you go, making money without doing any product creation.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO HAVE A WEBSITE FOR YOUR SMALL BUSINESS

https://i1.wp.com/www.businessmodeblog.com/uploads/3/2/7/9/3279081/header_images/1370340295.jpg
With over 2.2 billion people online, the internet has revolutionized how we find and share information. The online world is moving at a rapid pace and doesn’t show any signs of slowing. For businesses, a web presence has become a fundamental part of success. But why is a presence on the web so important? How significant is the impact of being online? We’re glad you asked.

Yes, absolutely.

Never before has the world been able to connect across the globe and interact so easily. Think about the last time you needed to know something, anything — chances are you went to look it up online. The Internet has completely changed the way we live and how we gather information. Not only is it now our primary source of information, but it has revolutionized the way businesses operate and communicate with customers.

Websites and the online tools that promote them should be the focal point of all advertising and marketing for all businesses, big or small. Here’s why:

Because people are online.
If you’re looking for an audience, more customers, or people to influence, the web is where your business needs to be. With over 78% of adult Americans using the Internet and an astounding 2.2 billion people online worldwide including Nigerians, it’s no surprise that small businesses with websites experience an average of 39% greater revenue per year than those without websites, according to the Small Business Administration.

Your consumers are online, trust us.

Because it establishes credibility.
When consumers can’t find a company online it raises a red flag. Does this company really exist? Can I trust them? Are they trying to scam me? People are more skeptical than ever.  Even when consumers don’t purchase online, they research and look online before they buy. A survey carried out by Nielsen Advertising in 2012 shows that 58 percent of global online consumers said they more likely to trust a company with “owned media,” such as a company with a website, versus one who doesn’t. When you have a good website, it gives people a peace of mind about your business. Whether you’re selling a product or service, or simply providing information, it’s important for your business to have a web presence in order to establish credibility.

Because it’s a great way to build your brand.
A website lets you brand your business like never before. Websites give you unlimited freedom to determine how your business looks to your customers. Websites are flexible and can grow as yours business evolves, and they also allow your business to be available around the clock, even during off business hours. Add to this that websites are one of the most cost-effective tools available and it’s obvious why so many businesses now leverage a website. Business branding through the web will help you develop a stronger reputation to millions around the world. Potential customers will be able to research your business and find good reviews about the product or service you provide. In fact, consumers say they trust online consumer reviews second from personal recommendations. Think of your website as an extension of your sales staff, helping you nurture and generate leads by educating people on your products or services.

Because it is the best way to engage with prospective customers.
Word of mouth has and always will be the most trusted form of advertisement. 92 percent of consumers around the world say they trust earned media, such as word-of-mouth and recommendations from friends and family, above all other forms of advertising. With a website, you make it easy for consumers to share your business. With a simple link, they can instantly access all your business information. And with social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, it’s now even easier for people the to share things they love or recommend. When you have a website, you give these recommendations a place to go. Websites serves as central place for potential customers to learn more about why your business is so great.

How Your Relationship Can Affect your Future

image

Good morning friends, it’s Sunday morning here in Nigeria. Quite unlike me, I didn’t make it to church. I listened over the loud public address system and anointed myself from the oil in my house. Not a bad idea I guess. Yesterday was Margaret Haynes Meritt wedding anniversary but I didn’t really think about how much success she had credit to her marriage till early this morning when I read for the second time, her post on her 33rd wedding anniversary. wow. 33 years of marriage and all the way without a regret. The surprise is how she figured it out at age 13 and 42 years later, she count him as part of her success. I’ll prefer you read what she wrote about it and how firm she was at age 13. Was it the usual teenage crush? I don’t think so. Read all on her blog.

I celebrated today with a kayak trip (love the outdoors) and dinner out later. We’re pretty busy right now with one son leaving to live in Thailand in August and a daughter returning from L.A. in July. I’m currently headed to London in September to visit my sister. This has me checking out
#London blogs looking for restaurant
recommendations and great photo ops. Let me know if you have any great places to visit or eat. (Also visiting Cheltenham where my sister
lives).

She would love to hear about you plus get every new post delivered to your Inbox from Margaret Haynes Meritt Create a Life Worth Living iblog2earn educating posts that can change your perspective on making money online.

HOW TO DESIGN A WEBSITE

It seems like everyone either has or wants a website. For the latter group–those who don’t have a web site–it might seem like a daunting task, to start one especially here in Nigeria where people don’t have much knowledge of what is happening online. I’ve seen people who walk into a cafe to ask how much it cost to own an email or a Facebook account -that’s “backwardness” as found in our system. It’s funny to think owning an email is a great deal, same is applicable to owning a website or worst of all a self hosted blog.

Starting a website can be very simple and cheap.

This tutorial will teach you how to create your own website and even turn website design to a fertile business that can fetch you as much as N150,000 or more monthly. That is what BusinessMODE is all about -empowering young persons who are willing.

Read Why You Need A Website and how you can Make Money Legitimate Online.

Let’s go there 🙂

There are essentially just three main components to website development:

1. Domain name
2. Web Hosting
3. The Website Code/Design

Let’s cover each of these components and break them down with simple explanations and how they tie into one another.

A domain name is usually a .com, .net, or .org address that visitors use to view your website on the web. The most popular top level domain (TLD) is the .com extension. Domain names are typically sold annually, so when you register a domain name, you have it for one year with the first option to renew it, unless you purchase multiple years up front. When starting a website, it’s important to find a good domain name that represents your brand or business. Read more about what you need to put into consideration before starting your website project HERE.

The domain name is much like an entry in a phone book. Computers communicate by using numbers, called IP addresses, to contact each other, much like you use a phone number to dial a specific person’s phone. If you want people to find your business’s phone number, you want to be listed in a phone book. The phone book tells people looking for your phone number “Company A’s Phone number is xxx- xxx-xxxx” just as a domain tells people (i.e. their computers) “domainA.com is hosted on the server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx” Without the domain, you would have to tell your customers “Hey my site is located at 123.456.789.123/~mysite/” instead of “mysite.com” You can see how, without a domain, having a site or hosting is impractical.

Web Hosting

After you have a domain name registered, the next step is to get a web hosting package. At BusinessMODE, we recommend signing up with a less expensive shared hosting plans (for a few dollars a month) and then upgrade later if you need it. An exception to this would be if you need custom software or packages (such as live video streaming) that aren’t offered in a shared hosting environment. In thise case, a VPS or Dedicated Server might be a better option. If you’re still not sure which web hosting plan to choose, we recommend reading about the Different Types of Web Hosting plans.

The web-hosting or server portion is much like the space that you rent out to have your business in. It’s merely the space itself. It does not include furnishings like shelves for your products, just as the web-hosting account doesn’t include a site for you to sell your products.

Luckily, in the web-hosting world, it’s very easy to furnish the space provided by your host, because you can install many framework applications through the Fantastico icon within your cPanel. Without the hosting services, you won’t have a place for your files to reside, so your domain would then become like a disconnected phone number in the phone directory, and your site files would have nowhere to stay.

There are quite a number of hosting companies out there including those run by Nigerians like BhlueDomains. But for convenience, we recommend HostGator for your hosting plan.

HostGator is one of the world’s top 10 largest web hosting companies with more than 8,000,000 hosted domains. They have over 850 employees to provide you superior around the clock support. From experience,  are the perfect choice whether you are looking for business, personal, or even Fortune 500 hosting.

Every web hosting plan comes with a 45 day money back guarantee, 99.9% uptime guarantee, and is fully guaranteed by the CEO himself. If you ever have a problem with the regular support, just ask that your ticket be assigned to Adam and he will personally take the time to give you the VIP attention that you deserve.

Your domain name gets “pointed” to your web hosting account by changing the name servers for that domain name. Once that’s been updated, anyone going to your domain name will be viewing the website hosted at your web hosting provider. Web hosting providers like HostGator, provide a control panel to make it easy to administer your website.

Here’s a coupon code for a whopping  25% discount DAhaRuwy4f instead of 20% offered by the company. On the alternative, you can use a1b9l8a1ku to get a $9.94 discount. Just copy and paste when asked for as you register your domain. Click HERE to get your discount.

The Website Code/Design
There are many ways to make a website. website is usually a file that is coded with HTML, and contains image and video elements. It’s possible to create a website using just a text editor like Notepad, but for beginners it’s usually best to use software geared for web development. You can download free software for creating a website such as KompoZer, but since we are hosting with HostGator, we will use one of their free sitebuilder -weebly.

Programming languages like PHP, Ruby, Python, Perl, and ASP.net can also be used to create dynamic web sites. Fortunately there are many different open-source and free web-based software applications based around these languages that don’t require much programming experience to use, such as WordPress, Drupal , and Joomla, to name a few.

If you choose not to use the hosted site builder, provided by HostGator, you can create and edit your web site locally. Once the website is completed, you can then upload your webpages through FTP to your web hosting account so that it’s visible on the web to anyone who goes to your domain name.

The site files are what your visitors and potential customers actually see – your products and services. The site files are the same as any other file you normally use, like a .jpg photograph, or .mp3 music file. Though, website files are also .php files or .html files, which are PHP scripts or html pages respectively. The web host (server) knows how to read these files, which explain how the webpage looks or instruct it to do a series of computations. These computations are things like figuring out what blog article it’s supposed to send back to the viewer, or what forum post it’s supposed to send back.

In summary, you have a site visitor, who goes to your domain name, which translates into your server IP address, then the server sends that user your site files, which their browser represents to them as a typical “web-page.” You can see that, without each of these 3 elements, you won’t really have a “web-site.”
